About Bharatanatyam

Bharatanatyam is a Classical Indian dance art form taking its 
root from the southern district of Thanjavur, in the state of 
Tamil Nadu in India.In case of Bharatanatyam, the dance was born 
in temples as an offering to the gods. In more than two thousand 
years of its recorded history, Bharatanatyam has reigned supreme 
for the precision and perfection of movements

Sage Bharata's Natyasastra is the origin of Bharatanatyam. This 
text describes in detail, the allowed movements of the eyes, 
neck, hands, limbs, legs, expressions, costume, stage 
decorations, stage lighting, etc. With its origin rooted in this 
text, the dance's awareness of the human form allows it to fully 
explore the body's immense power of expression

BHARATANATYAM Is a combination of : 
Bhava (expression),
Raga (music or melody), 
Tala (rhythm or beats) and 
Natyam meaning dance. 

About Me
---------

I had the privilege and opportunity to learn this art from well 
known danseuse Kalaimamani Ranganayaki Jayaraman in India – for 
a period of 17 years and have given several performances in 
Cultural centres and various Television Channels in India. Had 
won several recognitions & awards during my career.
Have  specialised in the following segments of Bharatanatyam :
-	Pushpanjali
-	Alarippu
-	Shabdam
-	Jatheeswaram
-	Varnam
-	Popular Thillana & Other Classical Padams.

Classes

Was teaching dance for students in Minneapolis.Now i Have been 
relocated to waukesha wisconsin. Planning to start a batch at 
waukesha .I am keen to teach dance & share my experiences to 
those who are willing to learn this divine art form.
